What better setting for a workshop that integrates body, mind and spirit than one of planet Earth’s most beautiful landscapes? Grand Canyon has long served as a magnet for those who strive to utilize nature’s exterior landscape to assist in the exploration of that which lies within. This rim-based retreat will incorporate yoga, sound therapy, meditation, guided visualizations and a study of color and light to assist in this exploration.
We will have access to beautiful outdoor locations and also have a wonderful inside space in case of rain.
Along with twice daily yoga sessions, we will practice various meditation and relaxation techniques and learn some beautiful Sanskrit chants that soothe the nervous system and provide a beneficial boost to the endocrine system as well.
A series of natural history rim walks and short hikes with a longtime GCFI instructor will serve to “ground” the experience for participants. Yoga sessions will take place in secluded spots along the forested South Rim.
Yoga enthusiasts with some experience are welcome in this class that will gently stretch your body and awareness while learning more about the natural history of Grand Canyon.
