For centuries Grand Canyon has served as a catalyst for reflection and creativity in those that have stood along the rim, ventured down the trails, or floated upon its deliberate river. The artistic mediums may change, but the challenge remains the same. How to convey one’s impressions of a spectacle that is simultaneously sublime and stupendous? Some never try, others surrender in frustration, but the personal rewards are many for those who manage to find a way.
This writing and journaling workshop facilitated by award-winning author Page Lambert will encourage participants to reflect upon and convey their experiences both verbally and in writing through a series of fun, lighthearted, and insightful exercises. Secluded scenic overlooks will provide the backdrop for this unique event. Light hiking along and below the rim, including a journey down stunning Cathedral Wash to the Colorado River, may be an option if group desires and abilities permit. No writing or journaling experience required.
