When most people think of mining in the Grand Canyon they immediately consider extractable minerals such as copper, silver, uranium, and asbestos. Those days have long since past, but it could be argued that mining carries on to this day, only today’s visitors are mining for meaning, connection, and understanding.
It’s in search of the latter more ethereal treasures that this class will visit the depths of the canyon. During a two-night backpack to Indian Garden Campground, participants will explore new ways to connect with the Inner Canyon’s energies both mentally and physically.
Yoga sessions will take place in a variety of idyllic settings, and will be enhanced with a discussion of Grand Canyon’s geologic formations and their associated myths. Yoga enthusiasts ranging from first-timers to advanced practitioners are welcome.
