Some of the most spectacular and least-visited corners of Grand Canyon are found in its remote northwestern section. As one might expect, these corners are difficult to access and require considerable off trail hiking and climbing skills. This is an area of the canyon that few people are familiar with, and fewer still have been privileged to explore.

Highlights include the wide expanse of the remote Sanup Plateau, the convoluted entrance into the narrows of Dry Canyon, the abrupt transition from mile deep gorge to miles wide valley as one hikes out of the Colorado Plateau onto the Basin and Range, and finishes with the innumerable gyrations of Pearce Canyon.
Prerequisite: An Intermediate Wilderness Studies workshop. Must be approved by instructor.
